This month, we feature a mixed bag of articles, including a feature story about phrenology, the discredited idea that the human skull contains many organs and that measurements of the skull and its "protuberances" can produce information about the brain. The in-depth research done by Randy Alley makes for an interesting history of this idea.

Other articles include reflections on a talk that Chairman David gave to the Professionals Against Confidence Crime in Chicago and a review of a presentation by veteran paranormal investigator Joe Nickell of CSICOP in St. Louis.

There certainly seems to be a lot of irrationality going around these days, but we can’t spot everything. We welcome any clips, e-mail messages or letters to the editor.
